This view of the 1935 Silver Jubilee seat is taken from outside the King's Head on the A12, looking down the High Street. The horse chestnut was grown from a chestnut from Verdun, collected by Mrs Lomax of Grove Park. It was planted on 11 November 1923 by Ezra Cotton and George Davy, the oldest and youngest children at the school, to commemorate the great battles of 1916.
